Made by my Hands.

Hi, this is me, Mirjam, the person behind all the creations of Mirjam Faber Ceramics. I am a ceramicist with a long-lasting passion for any and all handmade crafts. It all started with me learning how to sew, knit, crochet and do some (very) basic woodworking from various family members as a child. After studying life sciences and living to Taiwan for a little while, I started my more professional rediscovery of handmade products by studying product design in Berlin, where I also ended up taking ceramics classes at a local neighborhood studio (shoutout to Pottery to the People).

It took me a couple years and multiple moves, but now I am lucky enough to call the vibrant city of Barcelona my home, and myself a ceramicist / potter. Here I am creating functional tableware and occasionally some more sculptural, one-off pieces in a local coworking studio, surrounded and inspired by and learning from other creatives from all over the world. Even my love for fiber arts is finding its way into my current work, as my more uncommon ceramic goodies include buttons and stitch markers!

My focus is always to create pieces that bring an extra little burst of joy to daily rituals while always looking out for well designed shapes, from drinking a hot tea in the morning to buttoning down a second hand clothing item with one-off ceramic buttons. Repeating and perfecting motions as if I were practicing a dance choreography is a true pleasure for me, noticing my hands are getting more knowledgeable each time I am sitting down for my practice. I hope this is being reflected in my products, and I truly wish that these pieces will live their best lives in their new homes all over the world.
